Dear walkers and sympathisers

The 51st edition of the “Vierdaagse van de IJzer” is behind us and thanks to your numerous turnout, it turned out to be a record edition where we welcomed 11405 individual participants. Over 300 more than the centenary commemoration edition of WWI in 2014.

You accounted for over 6000 walkers each day with an absolute peak on day 3 at Poperinge where the 7000 mark was reached.

More importantly, the edition was spared any major incidents and the comments we received were largely positive to very complimentary, a boost for the team.

We expect to publish the 2024 photo gallery in mid-October, which will also mark the start of preparations for the next edition, which will take place in 2025 from Tuesday 19 to Friday 22 August.
