PRESS RELEASE - ORGANIZING COMMITTEE OF THE FOUR DAYS OF YSER- 15 May 2020
No Four Days of the Yser in 2020
Although the National Security Council has not yet taken a comprehensive decision on events after June 30, many local governments and organizations have already decided to cancel their summer events of a social, cultural, recreational and / or sporting nature.
In this context, the Organizing Committee of the Four Days of the Yser has also considered the 2020 edition of the Four Days, which would take place from 18 to 21 August in the Westhoek of our coastal province.
In view of the uncertainties about the further evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the complexity to guarantee in the current circumstances that everything can proceed safely, it was decided to cancel the 2020 edition of the Four Days of the Yser .
The Organizing Committee realizes that this decision is a disappointment to all those who feel close to the Four Days. In these special times, however, we want to put the safety and health of walkers and employees first. We therefore count on everyone's understanding.
For the Organizing Committee,
Philippe DE COCK
Frigate Captain Staff License Holder
Military Commander of the Province of West Flanders
Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Four Days of the Yser
